Binding

Struct Binding

Source
pub struct Binding<T>
where T: 'static + Clone,
{ /* private fields */ }
Expand description

A binding view that observes a reactive [vizia_reactive] signal and rebuilds its contents whenever the signal value changes.

Binding subscribes to the signal’s reactive graph and is notified immediately when the signal is mutated, even from inside a model’s event handler.

§Example

pub struct AppData {
    pub count: Signal<i32>,
}

impl Model for AppData {
    fn event(&mut self, _cx: &mut EventContext, event: &mut Event) {
        event.map(|e, _| match e {
            AppEvent::Increment => self.count.update(|c| *c += 1),
        });
    }
}

// In the view tree:
Binding::new(cx, app_data.count, |cx| {
    Label::new(cx, app_data.count.get(cx).to_string());
});

Implementations§

Source§

impl<T> Binding<T>
where T: 'static + Clone,

Source

pub fn new<S, F>(cx: &mut Context, signal: S, builder: F)
where S: SignalGet<T> + 'static, F: 'static + Fn(&mut Context),

Creates a new Binding.

  • signal — any value implementing SignalGet<T>, typically a Signal<T>.
  • builder — closure called immediately and on every subsequent signal change to (re)build child views.

impl<T> Downcast for T
where T: Any,

§

fn into_any(self: Box<T>) -> Box<dyn Any>

Convert Box<dyn Trait> (where Trait: Downcast) to Box<dyn Any>. Box<dyn Any> can then be further downcast into Box<ConcreteType> where ConcreteType implements Trait.
§

fn into_any_rc(self: Rc<T>) -> Rc<dyn Any>

Convert Rc<Trait> (where Trait: Downcast) to Rc<Any>. Rc<Any> can then be further downcast into Rc<ConcreteType> where ConcreteType implements Trait.
§

fn as_any(&self) -> &(dyn Any + 'static)

Convert &Trait (where Trait: Downcast) to &Any. This is needed since Rust cannot generate &Any’s vtable from &Trait’s.
§

fn as_any_mut(&mut self) -> &mut (dyn Any + 'static)

Convert &mut Trait (where Trait: Downcast) to &Any. This is needed since Rust cannot generate &mut Any’s vtable from &mut Trait’s.
